The agreements concluded more than one year ago with Nando to cooperate on the renovation of the village, take shape now. The first step is the construction, or better said, the restoration of the old road uphill. In the past ten years the road was almost completed flooded away by the rain. Al the transport of materials, wood and food is realized by carrying the loads on the head or with donkeys. One the road will be repaired; transport could be carried out by means of donkey chariots. From past January on the cutting and the collecting of the stones needed for the enclosure of the sides of the road has begun.
In total about sixty persons are active in a heat of more than 40 degrees Celsius. We follow now with the supply of red earth, gravel and the required cement in order to realize the parts in concrete on top of the sloped parts. It is ADI that organizes the labor supply and that takes care of technical instructions. End April this year the road will be finished. Next to this it seems that the water problem has been solved also. A new pump, piercing an old water drilling and additional solar panels produce now a firm water flow, one that arrives uphill in the village.
