Water

Clean and safe water is scarce in Pays Dogon. Almost all available water is in the ground and wells, boreholes and pumps are expensive and fragile. A good water supply is a water tower with a solar-powered pump. Such a water tower improves the quality of life in a village considerably, but the tower costs a lot of money and requires good maintenance. ADI builds water towers and also installs cheaper hand pumps. Dams are also built to retain rainwater. ADI trains young men and women to install and maintain water supplies.
