For the children, students and parents around Sevaré a public pool has been designed on Willem Snapper’s request (Stichting Mopti). The ‘green’ pool offers the possibility of a new type of recreation in the developing neighborhood, as well as a chance to teach children how to swim. The pool is situated in the vicinity of the Technical School and could be a fantastic internship project for the 50 students that need practical work experience this year. Because of the comprehensive and diverse internship opportunities, FDE is supporting the initiative.
The field is 60 x 20 m². The pool (10 x 35 m²) will provided with a cascading green oasis of water plants on one side. On the other side stone arches will be constructed with shaded resting places, changing rooms and showers. On the corner of the complex there will be a restaurant that will be open outside of pool times as well. Additionally an accommodation for the superintendent is going to be built.
At this moment negotiations regarding the purchasing of the land are in process. To be continued.
