ADI supports forestry for charcoal production

On a yearly basis, the population of Mali consumes more than 6.5 million tons of wood as fuel. Urged by the increase of this use and by the decrease of trees by logging, the organizations “PLANETE URGENCE” and the Dutch “NOTS” have swung into action. In collaboration with “WHAT IF… we change”, they aim at the maintenance of natural afforestation, and at combining logging with the planting of new trees.
They have introduced new charcoal ovens. These offer quite an improvement of output at the production of charcoal sold in the cities. The ovens are made of our clay stones via ADI. Please read more in the article “How to stop deforestation in Mali?”.
