The school in Tanouan Ibi is surrounded by little water boxes with 200 trees and a fence around the terrain. The village is well organized, in fact they already have a water committee even if it is not necessary due to the water’s situation.
There are two India Mali pumps and there is a well that produces not enough water. The village is spending 55.000 CFA per month in order to repair the India Mali pumps, but sometimes happens that both pumps are broken and the villagers must go further away to another village. It is clear that the people are constantly under stress for the problems related to the access of water.
The Blue pump can represents a solution, in fact the village looks enthusiastic of the idea of buy two Blue Pumps as soon as possible, since it is cheaper compared to repairing the old pumps. They will be the first partners who are going to buy the Bleu Pump and we presented them the contract. In September the project will be released, after the contract being signed by the water committee.
In Sogu Yagem we will place the second pump and more villages are interested to buy this pump. The Blue Pump is a total plan, which comprehends education and business, with a contract for each village and payment arrangement. The foundation pays € 1,000 – € 2,500 the village – in 5 years.
