All three original foundations in PPD each have worked for many years with our local partner, the NGO Association Dogon Initiative (ADI).
ADI initiates, organizes and executes our various projects in direct and continuous consultation with the local population. These projects can integrate the different focal points of our work: schools, educational innovation, women’s groups, cultural heritage, water, agriculture, desert greening and tree planting are often intertwined in a project.
ADI writes: ‘We do not create ‘incidents’, but work on long-term projects that involve the local community, and gives them a sense of ownership and responsibility. Projects whose ethos is self-perpetuating and in which care and maintenance are central.’
Our programs with ADI are long-term, and we do not have an exit-strategy.
ADI’s full financial statement for 2016 can be found here.
